Welcome to Sean Ryan's Forge The site is currently down, but we'll be back!

Meanwhile, about Sean:

Sean Ryan is a retired Army Special Forces officer. A lifelong outdoorsman and competitive fencer, this retired Green Beret became interested in knifemaking when a village blacksmith made him a sheath knife from an old truck leaf spring nearly 30 years ago. That same sheath knife is still sharp enough to shave with today. Slightly more than 20 years later, with some tutoring, mentoring, and encouragement, he is now creating his own knives for others to enjoy. You may notice that many of his original designs start out from recycled high carbon steels such as farrier's rasps or vehicle leaf springs. He enjoys repurposing high quality steels that would otherwise end up on a trash pile somewhere, instead creating attractive and functional knives that will last a lifetime. His custom made knives represent personal designs handmade in North Carolina from a variety of high carbon steels unless otherwise noted.
